What We Do |
The Alliance for Youth Achievement (AYA) is a US 501c3 nonprofit organization that was was founded in 1999 to provide partnership, financial support and advocacy for small, grassroots organizations assisting AIDS orphans and street children. We believe, and research has supported, that smaller organization are typically more efficient in utilizing funding, and a small amount of money can make a big difference in the lives of the children they are helping. We help our partners in a variety of settings, including schools, orphanages and foster homes, medical projects, and micro-credit or income-generating projects. AYA strongly believes in promoting solutions that offer improved self-sufficiency through education and income-generating activities. Through the compassion and commitment of people throughout the world working together, we truly believe we can impact the lives of the millions of children affected by AIDS and living in extreme poverty. |
Misson Statement: The mission of The Alliance for Youth Achievement is to improve the quality of life for the poorest and most vulnerable children in Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda, with a priority in helping AIDS orphans and street children. AYA provides professional, educational, and financial support to small, Afican-based schools, orphanages, medical clinics, and income-generating projects. AYA believes that every child should feel valued, experience hope, and realize opportunities for greater self-sufficiency. |
